20 Stay at Home Mom Jobs

Last Updated on October 8, 2019 by Ngozi

Stay at home mom jobs

The availability of Stay-at-home mom jobs has made it easier to contribute financially to your household and stay at home with your children.

Being a working mom with smaller children is difficult.

Many moms don’t have the option to pick if they are going to work or stay at home. Most households require two incomes, that’s why more moms are looking for stay-at-home mom jobs, where they can bring in money and be with their children.

Why Work from Home?

Generally, most people prefer online jobs than commuting to work. When it comes to the workplace, nothing is more ideal than working from the comfort of your own home. However, for mothers, working from home is more appealing.

More Time with The Kids

One of the hardest things about being a working mom is dropping off the kids at daycare, spending more time away from your kids. Being away from your children especially when they are babies is tough. Many women choose to leave their jobs and stay home so they can be with their children.

By working from home, moms will be able to spend more time with their kids and still make money.

Flexible Hours

Working from home provides you the opportunity to have flexible hours and spend more time with your kids. You’ll be able to work when it’s convenient for you and your family.

No Time Wasted on a Commute

Driving to and from work takes up precious time that you could be spending with your kids and it also drains your energy.

Working from home cuts the commute down to zero and you get more time to spend with your family.

Save on Childcare

Childcare is increasing at an alarming rate. For many, it’s cheaper to stay home and take care of the kids than to go to work and send them to daycare. Working from home, you’ll avoid expensive childcare while still making money.

I get lots of emails from people wanting to know ways to make money from home.

If you are a stay at home mother, student, stay at home dad, or you just simply want to make extra money, there a few jobs out there that you can do from home.

When you do a web search on ways to make money from home, hundreds of websites promise lucrative pay for little to no work but many of them are scams.

I found out that I wasn’t the only person looking for ways to make money from home. The questions that normally come up are:

  • Where to start
  • What is the pay
  • Is this a legitimate job

Not knowing where to start or where to look is the most common problem with people that want to make money online.

There are so many businesses looking for services or skills, but there are people out there who don’t know how to earn money online.

It is not difficult to find a way to earn money from home with your skill(s) if you know where to look.

First, you have to know your skills.

What type of job are you looking for?

Do you have a set time that you want to work or are you going to be flexible?

Higher demand most often results in a high income.

What are you good at doing?

Are you good at typing, writing, or organizing? If you are good at something, I am sure there is a business looking for such services. To begin, narrow down what you are good at doing.

Some jobs pay a lot and others pay just a few dollars. Your earning capacity depends on your skill and the time you have to invest in the work.

I have done some research and talked to people and have come up with 20 ways to make money from home. The list includes creativity, internet jobs and I am certain you will find something that you have never heard before.

Take paid online surveys

This is the quickest and easiest way to make money. I have made hundreds of dollars from survey sites. However, you will not earn a full-time income just from doing surveys. Completing surveys can be an extra income when you find the right ones. I recommend signing up for:

Swagbucks: There are multiple ways to earn rewards on Swagbucks. Earn money by taking surveys, watching videos, online searches, playing games, referrals and more. You earn random points, referred to as SB (Swagbucks). Points can be redeemed for gift cards or PayPal cash. Must be 13 and older to participate.

Survey Junkie: What I like most about Survey Junkie is that you will know by the first two questions if you are eligible for that survey. You will also know how long and how much you will receive for a survey. Skip the survey if it does not pay well. There are plenty to choose from, and they update the site regularly.

The Harris Poll: Harrispollonline.com is a web-based online survey and rewards system where users get paid to conduct surveys. By participating in the surveys, you can influence important decision-making in corporations, government, and non –profit organizations. This is one of the oldest survey sites in the world.

The more Survey websites you sign up for, the more you’ll earn.

Tip: You must open a separate email account exclusively for surveys. You’ll start to get flooded with emails and it will be more manageable in a different account

Sign up for Research Studies

You can make fast and easy money by participating in research studies. Below are the best-paid companies to sign up for

  • Respondent – $50-$400
  • Vindale Research – $10-$50 per day if you apply to multiple, participants are on a first-come, first-serve basis, be quick to apply if you see a good one.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The skills and experiences you have can bring you additional income as a stay at home mom. There are many opportunities out there, evaluate each one to see if it is the right fit for you. Don’t settle for one, try as many as you can and decide which is best.

Remember that many work at home jobs are freelance positions. This means that you are responsible for your taxes and you pay your benefits. If you don’t want to be a Freelancer, consider applying with a company to become an employee.
